Academic Reading and Writing
- Description
A 14-week course focused on refining skills in academic reading and writing. Students will progress from writing various styles of academic paragraphs to writing a short academic essay. In addition, students will work on improving sentence structure and grammar in their writing. Reading skills such as skimming and scanning, reading for the main idea and reading to extract specific information will be introduced. Students will also work on oral presentation skills, library research skills and lecture listening skills.
Hours of Instruction: 112 hours (14 weeks, 8 hours per week) of instruction and tutorial.
