Description: This course will cover the history of modern philosophy—roughly the period that extends from the Renaissance through to Emmanuel Kant (1724-1804). We shall discuss figures such as Descartes, Locke, Hume, and Kant, and concentrate mainly on epistemological and metaphysical issues.
